Much of our work would not be possible without the assistance we receive from our generous partners. Partners contribute in a number of ways including through donations, through advocacy, through implementation of our objectives, and through the provision of expertise. We appreciate that no organisation seeking to achieve goals of the scale we have set ourselves, can be successful in solitude. As you peruse the site, please take some time to visit each of our partner pages below.

Implementing Partners

We feel that it is important for us to utilise implementing partners where we can as they are commonly already a part of the fabric of the communities and wilderness areas in which we conduct our work. All of our partners have numerous years of experience when it comes to dealing with local cultural, logistical and political issues and this experience is vital for us to be effective in executing our mission.

Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) have been a feature of the Lower Zambezi National Park since 1994 and their work is vital, if not pivotal. Their existence was precipitated by massive decline in elephant populations in Zambia during the 1990's. Since that time CLZ have worked collaboratively with the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) to actively promote and protect Zambia's natural heritage within the Lower Zambezi National Park. This work includes the running of a wildlife conservation education program, conducting anti-poaching efforts, human-wildlife conflict mitigation and addressing infrastructure needs to name a few. Needless to say, we are proud to call CLZ a partner.

The Tashinga Initiative Foundation (TTI) performs a similar role to that of CLZ, but on the Zimbabwean side of the Zambezi River. The ongoing socio-economic crisis in Zimbabwe has meant that there is a very real need for assistance in the areas of anti-poaching, infrastructure development and maintenance, equipment provisioning and environmental education. The focus of TTI's work has been in the Victoria Falls, Chizarira, Matusadona and Mana Pools National Parks, and in the Chewore and Dande Safari Areas. Since 2001 there has been a 75% decline in elephant populations in the Sebungwe Region which includes Matusadona and Chizarira, and a 40% decline in elephant populations in Mana Pools. Quite clearly, Diwa Zambezi can play a vital part in providing support to these areas via the Tashinga Initiative Trust. Again, we are privileged to be able to call TTI a partner.
